B4T9....
Because it's never too late to play hard!

B4T9 is a Women's Master's Cycling Team.
The core of the team was founded in 2004 as Kalyra Racing Team, nicknamed the "Pink Hurricane". It has established itself as one of the premier Master's teams in the country competing in all disciplines from road to track to mountain. The team members include veteran elite racers along with women who are entering the sport for the first time. Along with racing, B4T9 promotes the sport of cycling through sponsorship of events, fundraising and offering camps and clinics that promote cycling safetly in schools and get more women on bikes.

B4T9 defined:
B4........as in previous to
T9........as in Title IX, the Federal Law passed in 1972 requiring institutions to provide equitable opportunity for women and girls to participate in sports.

Mission Statement::
B4T9 is a team of Master Women Athletes providing INSPIRATION, ENCOURAGEMENT, EDUCATION, and RESOURCES to other women seeking competitive sports opportunities...

Community Contributions:

  • Sponsorship of Women and Girls in Sports Day, Cyclemania, Wester Conference Collegiate Women's Cycling.
  • Fundraising for multiple charity events including our Race Across America which has raised $28,000 for Girls, Inc.
  • Development of a Women's No-Drop ride program with emphasis on safety, skills, & participation.
  • Mentoring program that encourages new racers to jump in with the pack.

Goals for 2012:

  • Establish non-profit status, 501 C3 application pending
  • fund our "Pay it Forward" scholarship program to provide assistance to qualified women to compete at USA Cycling Master's State, National and World Championship events
  • Expand B4T9 sponsorship and development of programs and events that provide support to a generation of women who were locked out of sports simply because they were girls.

Since 2004 this team has complied more Championship titles than can be listed here, Our recent racing highlights include:

  • USA Cycling Master's Nationals, annual podium placings including a record 9 medals and 2 championships in 2008.
  • Race Across America, 2007 and 2009 winner of 4-woman team division and established new worlds transcontinental record in 2009 of 7 days and 10 hours.
  • World Cycling Senior Games, Gold and Silver medal winner 2009.
  • National 40K Time Trial record held by MaryAnn Levenson, 2010.
  • Consitent top three rannkings by USA Cycling for master women.
